Secretariat is provided by Funeral Administration Ltd which is headed by Alun Tucker, a funeral professional with over 40 years' experience, and was set up in 2015, prior to Alun's retirement from day-to-day funeral directing in August 2016.

With a proven track record in business management at a senior level, Alun was, until recently, President of the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors for a second time.
He is keen to promote the next generation of funeral directors, having chaired the Independent Funeral Directors' College between 2005 and 2008 and through his current role as Company Secretary at the British Institute of Funeral Directors.
Alun was appointed Chief Executive of the Funeral Furnishing Manufacturers' Association (FFMA) in October 2018, where he is responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation, including managing its finances, administering the Coffin and Casket Certification scheme and keeping members up-to-date with the association's work, to name but a few areas of focus.
In May 2019, Alun was asked to take over as Secretary of the Council of British Funeral Services which completes his hat-trick in assisting funeral organisations!

Rachel Bradburne BA (Hons) MA

Rachel is an experienced policy and public affairs professional skilled in strategy development, people management, and stakeholder engagement. A motivated leader who has worked with the governments of the UK for more than twenty years to develop and influence public policy across a diverse number of policy areas including healthcare, animal welfare, and gambling regulation.
As a senior manager at various organisations, Rachel has a solid reputation for delivering against strategic objectives, managing change, and building successful teams in the public, private and third sectors.
Rachel joined the funeral sector in January 2021 and is responsible for the NAFD’s policy and lobbying activity UK wide - including all political liaison and cross sector engagement. Rachel and her team shaped the sector’s activities through the pandemic, working directly with the Cabinet Office as part of the Civil Contingencies Secretariat. During this time the funeral sector was also subject to a period of intense change – which included the implementation of regulation by both the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Rachel has also worked as an adviser to various MPs and Peers and holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Birmingham. She currently lives in Solihull with her two young children and enjoys going to the gym.
